Care matched to the material.
Glazed ceramic tile is durable and easy to live with, but the glaze can wear thin in busy areas, the finish goes flat under a build-up of cleaning residue, and — the most common complaint — the grout turns grey, patchy and mouldy no matter how hard you scrub it.
FloorCarePro deep-cleans ceramic floors and walls by machine, restores gloss where the glaze allows, and, where cleaning is not enough, rakes out and replaces failed grout or recolours it to a uniform shade with a stain-proof epoxy or acrylic grout.
Our ceramic tile services
Every step, done properly.
Ceramic Tile Polishing
Polishing removes the worn, dull top layer of a floor and rebuilds a clean, reflective finish.
↗ 02Ceramic Tile Deep Cleaning
Deep cleaning is machine-driven — a rotary or orbital scrubber with the correct chemistry lifts years of ground-in grime, detergent film, grease and biological growth that mopping only spreads around.
↗ 03Ceramic Tile Regrouting
Regrouting replaces failed grout — cracked, crumbling, missing, mouldy or permanently discoloured — across a tiled floor or wall.
↗What goes wrong
Common ceramic tile problems.
The ceramic tile body is porous but sealed by its glaze; problems concentrate at the grout and at any spots where the glaze has crazed or worn. Because ceramic is softer than porcelain/vitrified, its glaze can be genuinely abraded in doorways and kitchens, which no cleaning will bring back.
Grey, cracked, missing or mouldy grout
Dull film from years of soap and detergent residue
Worn matte patches where the glaze has abraded through
Loose or drummy tiles that sound hollow underfoot
Yellowed or stained grout in kitchens and bathrooms
Why it needs a specialist
Not a job for consumer products.
Regrouting is the fiddly part — old grout has to be raked out to a safe depth without chipping the tile edges, the joints cleaned, and the new grout packed and tooled consistently. Recolouring needs the grout properly cleaned and dried first or the colour seal peels. Both are easy to do badly.
Keeping it that way
How to look after your ceramic tile.
- ✓Clean with pH-neutral cleaner; skip the strong acids and bleaches that erode grout
- ✓Ventilate bathrooms to keep grout mould down
- ✓Seal cement grout after cleaning, or switch to epoxy grout when regrouting
- ✓Re-caulk (not grout) internal corners and tile-to-tub joints — they flex and crack

Frequently asked questions
Common questions, answered.
How long does floor polishing take?
A typical 1,000–1,500 sq ft home takes one to two days. Floors needing full grinding, or larger commercial areas, take longer. We work room by room so the rest of the space stays usable.
Why does my floor look dull even though I mop it often?
Usually it is a film of dried detergent plus hard water and fine grime. Mopping adds more of it. A machine scrub with an alkaline stripper removes the film and the shine returns.
