Sealing, done the right way.
Sealing is protection. Most natural stone is porous — an impregnating (penetrating) sealer soaks into the surface and lines the pores so water, oil and stains bead up and sit on top instead of soaking in. It does not change the look or add a film; it buys you time to wipe a spill before it becomes a stain, and makes daily cleaning easier.
In Delhi, dry-season grit and mineral-heavy hard water makes sealing a job worth doing properly and on a schedule, rather than leaving it until the floor is past saving. Seal after any polishing or restoration, when water no longer beads on the surface, before a stone floor goes into a kitchen or bathroom, or on new stone before it is used for the first time.
Delhi has more stone flooring per home than almost anywhere in India — from Makrana marble in Lutyens bungalows to Italian slabs in new Dwarka Expressway towers, granite in kitchens across every colony, and Kota stone on staircases and service areas everywhere. The dry-season dust, mineral-heavy hard water, and large open floor plans mean that flooring here loses its finish faster than owners expect.
Floor Sealing by surface
Which floor do you have?
Marble Sealing →
Because marble reacts to acid, even weak ones — lemon, vinegar, wine, many household cleaners — leave dull etch marks that no amount of buffing removes.
Granite Sealing →
Granite's hardness means it holds a polish for years, but also that restoring it needs finer, harder diamond abrasives than marble and more passes to lift the shine.
Kota Stone Sealing →
Kota is hard and slightly porous, with natural pin-holes and colour variation from green-grey to brown.
Wooden Floor Sealing →
Wood moves with humidity, so timing and acclimatisation matter, and the wear layer on engineered boards is finite — sand it too many times and there is nothing left.
Sandstone Sealing →
Sandstone's open pore structure is the whole point — it grips underfoot and looks natural — but it means aggressive cleaning erodes the surface and film-forming sealers peel.
The process
How floor sealing works.
Step 01
Test & clean
We test how absorbent the surface is and deep-clean it — a sealer applied over dirt seals the dirt in.
Step 02
Dry
The floor is left to dry fully; residual moisture stops the sealer penetrating.
Step 03
Apply
The right sealer for the stone and its use is applied evenly, worked in, and the excess wiped before it hazes.
Step 04
Cure & check
After curing we water-test the surface to confirm it is repelling, and give you the re-seal interval.
