Restoration, done the right way.
Restoration is the full job — for floors that are past a simple polish. It combines heavy grinding or sanding, crack and joint repair, chip and board replacement, matrix filling or densifying, honing, polishing and sealing. The goal is to take a badly worn, damaged or neglected floor back to as-new, or better.
In Delhi, dry-season grit and mineral-heavy hard water makes restoration a job worth doing properly and on a schedule, rather than leaving it until the floor is past saving. Restoration is for floors with deep scratching and etching, cracked or lippage-ridden tiles, failed old coatings, missing chips or damaged boards, dusting matrix, or years of neglect — anything a single-day polish cannot fix.
Delhi has more stone flooring per home than almost anywhere in India — from Makrana marble in Lutyens bungalows to Italian slabs in new Dwarka Expressway towers, granite in kitchens across every colony, and Kota stone on staircases and service areas everywhere. The dry-season dust, mineral-heavy hard water, and large open floor plans mean that flooring here loses its finish faster than owners expect.
Floor Restoration by surface
Which floor do you have?
Marble Restoration →
Because marble reacts to acid, even weak ones — lemon, vinegar, wine, many household cleaners — leave dull etch marks that no amount of buffing removes.
Granite Restoration →
Granite's hardness means it holds a polish for years, but also that restoring it needs finer, harder diamond abrasives than marble and more passes to lift the shine.
Kota Stone Restoration →
Kota is hard and slightly porous, with natural pin-holes and colour variation from green-grey to brown.
Wooden Floor Restoration →
Wood moves with humidity, so timing and acclimatisation matter, and the wear layer on engineered boards is finite — sand it too many times and there is nothing left.
Terrazzo Restoration →
Terrazzo behaves like the stone it is made of — the marble chips etch with acid, the cement matrix is porous and can dust or crack.
Epoxy Flooring Restoration →
Epoxy is a coating, not the slab — so restoration is about the coating's condition: is the gloss just worn (burnish), is the top coat tired (re-coat), or has it lost adhesion and needs stripping back (partial re-lay).
The process
How floor restoration works.
Step 01
Survey & plan
A detailed condition survey — damage type and depth, moisture, structural cracks, previous repairs — and a written scope and quote.
Step 02
Repairs
Cracks stitched and filled, lost chips and damaged boards replaced, hollow tiles re-bedded, thresholds and edges rebuilt.
Step 03
Heavy grind / sand
Aggressive abrasives remove deep damage, old coatings, coatings and unevenness across the whole floor.
Step 04
Fill & densify
Pin-holes and open matrix are grouted with colour-matched slurry; cement-based floors are chemically densified so they stop dusting and hold polish.
Step 05
Hone, polish, seal
The floor is refined through the full grit sequence to the chosen finish and protected with the appropriate sealer or coating.
