Care matched to the material.
Polished concrete has moved from warehouses into showrooms, offices, retail floors and modern homes because a ground and honed slab, correctly densified, gives a hard, seamless, low-maintenance surface at a fraction of the cost of stone. Left untreated, though, bare or poorly cured concrete dusts constantly, stains the moment oil or chemicals touch it, and looks patchy rather than polished.
FloorCarePro grinds concrete through a mechanical diamond sequence — coarse metal-bond diamonds down to fine resin pads — applies a penetrating densifier that reacts with the slab to close its pores, and finishes to the sheen the space needs, from a low-sheen matte for a factory floor to a high-gloss showroom finish.
Our concrete floor services
Every step, done properly.
What goes wrong
Common concrete floor problems.
Concrete dusts because its surface is soft and porous until it is mechanically ground and chemically densified — a topical coating alone just delays the problem. The finish achievable depends on the aggregate exposed during grinding (a "cream", salt-and-pepper or full-aggregate cut) and how many grit steps the slab is taken through.
Persistent concrete dust that returns no matter how often it is swept
Oil, chemical and tyre-mark staining on unsealed slabs
Patchy sheen and visible grinder or trowel marks
Hairline cracks and control joints that need filling before polishing
Old, peeling paint or epoxy coatings that must be stripped first
Why it needs a specialist
Not a job for consumer products.
Concrete polishing is heavy industrial work — planetary grinders, a correctly sequenced set of metal- and resin-bond diamonds, and a densifier applied at the right stage. Rush the grit steps or skip densifying and the floor looks polished for a few months, then goes dull and starts dusting again.
Keeping it that way
How to look after your concrete floor.
- ✓Dust-mop or auto-scrub regularly — grit is what wears the polish down
- ✓Clean spills of oil and chemicals promptly, even on a sealed floor
- ✓Use a pH-neutral cleaner; avoid acids that attack the densified surface
- ✓Re-burnish and re-seal every few years in heavy industrial or retail traffic

Frequently asked questions
Common questions, answered.
How long does floor polishing take?
A typical 1,000–1,500 sq ft home takes one to two days. Floors needing full grinding, or larger commercial areas, take longer. We work room by room so the rest of the space stays usable.
How often does stone need re-sealing?
Every 1–3 years indoors depending on traffic and cleaning, and every 2–3 years outdoors. The simplest test: drop water on the floor — if it darkens the stone instead of beading, it is time.
